Cell Membrane is primarily composed of lipids and proteins that make up a thin semi permeable structure that surrounds the cytoplasm giving the cell its structure and shape and enclosing its contents.  

 

The lipids allow the membrane flexibility while the proteins assist in the transfer of molecules across the membrane.
