Vacuole

A vacuole is found in both Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic cells, it is a fluid filled ‘sac’ bounded by a membrane. In side the vacuole there is a watery solution with solutes such as simple sugars, amino acids and salts (in the form on ions). The major function of a vacuole is the maintenance of the water and salt balance for the cell. Vacuoles also are able to store the cells waste products.
